In the following weeks, we will begin to introduce a series of product updates that will make managing destinations a smoother, overall better experience.
Please watch the video below for an overview of the changes coming to the Switchboard app this December.
What’s new?
Simplified Destination Management
With a new look and an enhanced navigation, the Destinations tab is now easier to use.
- You will notice new badges to help identify streaming blockers, such as platform-specific requirements that may make your destination ineligible for streaming.
To learn more about each platform’s requirements to go-live, check out this article with an updated guide of the most popular platforms and their requirements.
Streamlined Stream Groups
The process to create and edit Stream Groups is now manageable from a single modal.
- When creating or editing a group, first make sure to give it an easily identifiable name for you and your team. We recommend using labels or keywords for better organization and searchability.
- In the ‘Destinations’ section, you can toggle chosen destinations On/Off according to your stream’s needs. For ineligible destinations, an error message will appear to help you identify the issue. Also in this tab, you will be able to toggle On/Off your StreamShare™️ destinations.
No More API Re-Authorization!
We hope you will be excited about this one–with Social Linking, constantly re-authorizing and duplicating destinations is a thing of the past.
By connecting and authorizing your accounts once, you will now find them available across all of your groups, meaning you won’t need to manually authorize or duplicate a destination to add it to a new group ever again.
Even better, by simply connecting your account, you will have access to all of the pages connected to that account. For example, in the account belonging to ‘Jay Smith’, you will now have access to all of Jay Smith’s linked Facebook pages without needing to manually add them, giving you the ability to add them as destinations by simply toggling them On–As always, you are in control of which pages go live.
New Status Page
In a continued effort to improve transparency, you can now find a small label on the bottom right corner of your Switchboard App screen, notifying you of Switchboard’s operational status. If there are any disruptions to the service, you can look to that corner to find out what the issue is, and what we’re doing to solve it.
Next Steps
As we begin this update’s rollout in the following weeks, you will receive a few notifications from us asking you to update your destinations to the new system. This should only take a couple of minutes, and you shouldn’t experience any disruption to your workflow and streaming set-up.
